Canola Oil

A colourless and odourless oil extracted from modified rape seeds in Canada - hence the name. It was originally welcomed by the "health brigade" as alternative to olive oil [because of its low saturated fat content (6 per cent), its omega-3 fatty acids (10 per cent) and especially for its monounsaturates (60 per cent)]; but has recently been the subject of much controversy.
