An unpasteurised smoked cows' milk cheese made in Shropshire by Mr. Moyden Handmade Cheese - see www.mrmoyden.com (http://www.mrmoyden.com/)
It's named after the 'Great Fire of Newport' (Shropshire) that happened in that year.
The wheels of cheese are smoked over oak at Bings Heath Smokery (q.v.) - resulting in a buttery texture and mellow, sweet, flavour.
