A Small annual herb, found growing on the chalk downs and sandy soils of Europe. The small pink or white flowers can be taken as an infusion before meals to stimulate appetite and aid digestion by encouraging the liver to secrete bile. Applied externally, centaury is reputed to repel fleas and lice. It's available from larger health stores.
