Char masala

The Afghan equivalent of Indian garam masala, or Chinese five spice powder. It is a blend of ground cinnamon, cloves, cumin and black cardamom or coriander seeds. If wanting to take a short cut use Sainsbury"s "Berbere spice". See 'Five spice powder'; ' Garam Masala'
