Cheese Rolling

An annual event in Cooper"s Hill, near Brockworth in Gloucestershire, where a race (possibly tracing back to pagen times, in some form or another - the cheese symbolising the crop-blessing sun).

8 lb truckes of Double Gloucester are raced down a 300-yard slope. The event generally takes place near the beginning of June. See "Traditional Events"
