A good traditional butcher, offering carefully-sourced local meat, poultry and seasonal game (although this might have to ordered).
They also make their own air-dried hams, which rather splendidly decorate the shop.
If you enjoy cooking take a minute to look at ‘Simon Scrutton French Cookery Classes’ on Google – and learn how to make top class bistro-style dishes. Suitable for beginners upwards. Small classes.

What did you like about the Food Shop?
The friendly, helpful, knowledgeable service. The selection of excellent locally sourced meat at prices VERY sensible when compared with similar shops say in London and much better than the local supermarkets. When I asked about the way their geese lived, I was invited to visit the farm and see. They may make a wonder range of specialist sausages fresh on the premises. Wild boar and cranberry is one of my favourites. They also carry game in season. :)
What did you not like about the Food Shop?
Nothing. Well - they are shut on Sundays..... only joking chaps, you deserve your day off.
