This old fashioned (in the nicest sense) butcher has been run by the Moen family here since the early '70s. Most of their meat and poultry comes from The Real Meat Company or Pure Suffolk Foods, so is both free-range and organic. They also have an interesting delicatessen section.
Their own sausages, coming in ten varieties, are deservedly popular, as are black and white puddings from Clonakilty in Ireland (these might be too heavy on barley for some tastes). Autumn and winter bring an impressive selection of game, often including snipe and woodcock.
Even more unusual items might include ostrich, emu and alligator and even locusts can be ordered. Fresh wild mushrooms in season and Bronze turkeys at Christmas. Beautifully presented meat, and excellent service.
