Since it's conception in 1979, Randolph Hodgson has made this Britain's, as well as London's, premier cheese shop for anything worthwhile produced in the British Isles. Most of their cheeses are unpasteurised, and this is no coincidence, as uncooked milk has more character.
Tasting before buying is positively encouraged, and informed advice is always on hand. As a bonus, they offer farm butter, yoghurt and Jersey cream throughout the year and excellent apples and pears - from traditional rather than commercial strains, in season.
