Makers of Llanboidy cheese from the unpasteurised milk of Red Poll cattle - it's believed to be the only cheese in Europe made with such milk. Cheeses are hard-pressed, and have a smooth, almost silkytexture that contrasts with its robust flavour. It's normally matured for 5 months, but this varies with the seasons. A version is made containing laverbread (seaweed).
A second cheese is now made. This is Cilowen, a hard-pressed cheese made with local organic cows' milk. It's younger and creamier than Llanboidy, and gently crumbly. It's good as a table cheese, or for cooking. A version is made flavoured with leeks and another smoked over oak. All can be collected from the dairy, but phone ahead.
