Newbury Farmers MarketThe Market Place, Newbury, RG14 1DJ
It is generally accepted by most farmers' markets that stall holders must have grown, bred, caught, pickled, brewed or baked the goods themselves. Their main emphasis is to help local producers and processors to sell their goods directly to the public, near their source of origin.
The selection of goods available will vary with the season and location. However, you are likely to find a delicious selection of vegetables, fruit, meat, eggs, bread and cakes, fruit juices and dairy products.
There's generally a stall selling the excellent Hereford beef and Saddleback pork from Evans & Paget of Thatcham; another offering excellent organic bread and other treats from Flour Power City; and another selling excellent fruit juice from Benson's of Sherborne; plus one offering trout - both brown and rainbow, from Brookleas Fish Farm.
- Open: Held on the 1st Sunday of each month; 10.00-13.30
