An excellent farm shop started in 2002 by Chris and Jo Reeks - to fulfil a lifelong ambition. The farm takes its name from a naval battle against the French, in the late 1600's. The victorious admiral was given Chippenham Park estate as a reward for his victory; and a number of timbers from the battleships were used in the construction of some of the buildings.
The shop is easily found, about 3 miles north of Newmarket. Local fruit and vegetables are in good supply - some being frozen, to help continuity. Butchered meat and game, in season; around 50 types of cheese (including many local varieties); home-made ice cream, bread, cakes, jams and chutneys are all offered. Their own chef produces traiteur dishes - some up to dinner party standard.
