It is generally accepted by most farmers' markets that stall holders must have grown, bred, caught, pickled, brewed or baked the goods themselves. Their main emphasis is to help local producers and processors to sell their goods directly to the public, near their source of origin.
The selection of goods available will vary with the season and location. However, you are likely to find a delicious selection of vegetables, fruit, meat, eggs, bread and cakes, fruit juices and dairy products.
There is generally a stall selling Hereford beef and Saddleback pork from Evans & Paget of Stark House Farm, plus excellent beef and other meat from Challow Hill Farm. Plus another with excellents artisan bread & notorious chocolate brownies from Flour Power City.
In late summer and autumn months, there's also generally a stall from Cross Lanes Fruit Farm offering as many of 40 varieties of apple plus much more; plus another, selling juices from Benson's of Sherborne - all are recommended.
- Open: Held on the morning of the last Thursday of each month, between 8.30-13.30
