Bath Farmers Market

Green Park Station Building, Bath, Somerset, BA1 5AP
Almost certainly, Britain's first farmers market - and undercover in an old railway station, which is a bonus.

It is generally accepted by most farmers' markets that stall holders must have grown, bred, caught, pickled, brewed or baked the goods themselves. Their main emphasis is to help local producers and processors to sell their goods directly to the public, near their source of origin.

The selection of goods available will vary with the season and location. However, you are likely to find a delicious selection of vegetables, fruit, meat, eggs, bread and cakes, fruit juices and dairy products.

There is generally a stall selling excellent single-variety apple juice from KG Consultants of Compton Dando, as well as their cider and vinegars; a stall selling meat from Bath Organic Farms; one with Deverill's excellent Organic Raindow Trout, charcuterie from Castellano's and another selling organic fruit, salad leaves (during summer months) and vegetables from Westwood Farm of Colerne.
Plus the excellent Kimber Farm Shop usually have a stall, offering naturally-reared lamb from The Naked Farmer (q.v.).

If you enjoy cooking take a minute to look at ‘Simon Scrutton French Cookery Classes’ on Google – and learn how to make top class bistro-style dishes. Suitable for beginners upwards. Small classes.
