An excellent butcher, selling the products of The Real Meat Company, founded by Richard Guy, and based at Warminster in Wiltshire. Their meat and poultry is reared without growth promoters, pre-emptive medication regimes (used to keep animals fit in over crowded conditions) and chemical yolk colourants. Their animals are regularly checked by a team from Bristol University Veterinary School and their welfare is paramount. They are not, however, reared organically, so there is a certain amount of leeway. All this does, however, produce excellent meat.
They claim that none of their beef farmers has had a case of BSE reported on their farms during the crisis. Which just shows the advantages of a natural diet! They also offer a comprehensive traiteur range of dishes that can go straight from your deep-freeze (in a foil tray) to the oven, these include the likes of chicken paupiettes, lamb ballotine and Mediterranean beef olives.
