Stroud Farmers MarketCornhill Market Place, Stroud, Gloucestershire, GL5 4JQ
It is generally accepted by most farmers markets that stall holders must have grown, bred, caught, pickled, brewed or baked the goods themselves. Their main emphasis is to help local producers and processors to sell their goods directly to the public, near their source of origin.
The selection of goods available will vary with the season and location. However, you are likely to find a delicious selection of vegetables, fruit, meat, eggs, bread and cakes, fruit juices and dairy products (often including excellent goats cheese from Cerney).
There is generally a stall from Hobbs House Bakery, selling their top-class organic breads, one from Adeys Farm Organic Meats offering Aberdeen Angus and Hereford beef, Suffolk lamb and pork from Gloucester Old Spots, Organic Rainbow Trout from Deverill; top-quality poultry from Madgetts Farm and an excellent stall selling organic vegetables from the Duchy Estate.
- Open: Held on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month: 9.00-14.00
