Rolvenden Farmers MarketThe Parish Church of St. Mary The Virgin & The Village Hall opposite, Rolvenden, Kent, TN17 4LN
It is generally accepted by most farmers markets that stall holders must have grown, bred, caught, pickled, brewed or baked the goods themselves. Their main emphasis is to help local producers and processors to sell their goods directly to the public, near their source of origin. The selection of goods available will vary with the season and location. However, you are likely to find a delicious selection of vegetables, fruit, meat, eggs, bread and cakes, fruit juices and dairy products.
There is generally a stall selling meat from free-range Sussex beef, the excellent salty-flavoured Romney lamb, pork from Gloucester Old Spots and free-range chickens all naturally-reared by Sunbeam Farm. Free-range turkeys are a bonus at Christmas, but these should be ordered. Botterells of Rye are also generally present, selling fresh fish, plus crabs, lobsters and scallops.
The market also has an interesting selection of craft goods.
- Open: Every Thursday; between 10.00-12.00 and the 1st Friday of each month, between 17.00-19.00
