This splendid Victorian stone house, can be found in 10 acres of wooded grounds, up a beech-lined drive. Over the years, the house has been lovingly decorated to create an almost home-from-home ambience, made even more welcoming by the Hausers' warmth and hospitality. The entrance hall features a pair of virtually life-size Indian mules carved in 1840 standing before a huge ornate gilt mirror. Other interesting pieces are scattered among the comfortable public rooms.
Bedrooms are finished to a high standard and creature comforts abound, including fresh fruit, books and magazines. While bathrooms are spotless, a few having bidets. A few more modern bedrooms are in a coach house annexe these have walk-in showers and one a jacuzzi.
They're particularly-proud of their breakfasts. All in all, a delightful place to stay; but no children under 7 years of age.
