Built on the site of the original Cavendish, where Rosa Lewis (the infamous Duchess of Duke Street) entertained royalty in the early 1900's, this hotel is now geared to the international businessman. Her spirit lives on, however, in the comfortable, club-like cocktail bar and in the life-size portraits dominating the stair well. The top floor, comprises of suites with sitting areas and spa baths, is not serviced by a lift but benefits from an impressive view.
There are good banqueting and conference facilities; and their first floor bar makes a good meeting place.
There are 14 floors of bedrooms, all of which are tastefully decorated and designed with business in mind; all have flat screen TV's with satellite channels, and all the expected modern conveniences, including tea and coffee making facilities, mini bars, CD players and personal safes. All have modern en suite bathroom facilities - 'Standard' rooms (see photo) having walk-in showers the remainder both tubs and showers.
Breakfast is charged as an extra, on an à la carte basis.
