This 16th century manor house, set in gardens designed by Capability Brown, and 2,000 acres of rolling countryside, now houses one of the areas finest hotels and restaurants. Elizabeth I once stayed here during 1575 and her original suite can still be seen.
Public rooms, particularly the Great Hall (see photograph) are comfortable with deep sofas and armchairs, and a sense of history maintained by the heavy 'period' antiques and old portraits.
There are excellent rooms for business meetings and conferences; and the Hall makes an excellent venue for weddings.
Bedrooms are very comfortable and each individually designed, with four poster beds and colourful heavy drapes. All in sharp contrast to the cutting edge of Wi-Fi technology, which would have amazed the original occupants. Cots and extra beds can be provided for children to share their parents room.
A stay here wouldn't be complete without a meal in their excellent restaurant which has a special menu for children.
Restaurant - Fawsley Hall Hotel - Equilibrium & Bess's Brasserie
This grand 15th building, until fairly recently a private house, now houses two restaurants and hotel. It's hard not to be impressed by its Capability Brown gardens and Tudor feel.
