Situated on the edge of 'The Lanes' and close to the sea, this branch of this small chain of comfortable hotels and destination restaurants, is housed in a collection of eccentric, gothic revival and mock Tudor buildings, erected appropriately enough by a wine merchant.
Public rooms are comfortable and spacious, and there are facilities for both private and guests. A feature is made of a heavily carved staircase and some bizarre gargoyles. While the double-height bar, is now overlooked by the billiards/snooker room.
Individually designed bedrooms are very comfortable, with over-size beds with hand sprung mattresses, Egyptian cotton bedlinen, flat screen TV's and Wi-Fi internet access. All have luxurious bathrooms; some combined with the bedrooms (see photo) and all the other expected modern amenities.
