On the Roseland peninsula (south-east of Truro), the Nare has an enviable position overlooking the sandy, mile-long Carne Beach. It's surrounded by National Trust land, with views towards Nare Head, from which the name of the hotel derives.
Fronted by terraces and lawns, the lounges (with board games and magazines) and bar offer comfort and sea views while the public corridors boast Oriental rugs over fitted carpets.
Bedrooms vary widely in size, with the best being very spacious. Most have private balconies. When booking you will be asked if you prefer a duvet or more traditional bedding and among the many comforting extras are Sherry, fresh flowers, bottled water and fresh milk. All bedrooms have all the expected modern amenities and modern en suite bathrooms.
A comfortable restaurant offers a menu of traditional British dishes (smart casual dress is necessary in the evening) and there's a more informal Quarterdeck brasserie, where breakfast lunch and lighter evening meals are served.
A drying/boot room is very useful for walkers. Concessions are available for those wishing to play golf at Truro Golf Club, 12 miles away.
