A top-class top, which in its present form has graced the city's main street since 1866. The interior décor is as graceful and elegant as you could wish, with sweeping staircases, the magnificent Grosvenor chandelier, panelled library (where you can have Afternoon Tea) and draped drawing room all providing an air of timelessness.
Bedrooms and suites are equally luxurious, with attention given to every possible detail. Hand-made furniture from Italy and silks and other fabrics from France and the USA combine with quality Btitish craftsmanship to create a reassuring feeling of solidity.
Air conditioned bedrooms all have over-size beds, modern TV's with extra satellite channels and DVD players, direct dial phones, mini bars, personal safes, trouser presses and en suite bathrooms with top-class toiletries. Some deluxe rooms have separate dressing areas. One suite 'The Presidential' has two bedrooms, each with its own bathroom and a separate sitting room. Seven larger rooms are particularly suitable for families.
There are meeting rooms suitable for meetings and events of between 2 and 250 visitors. Wi-Fi is available in many of the public and business meeting rooms.
You can dine informally in The Brasserie (see photograph) or in the award-winning Arkle Restaurant (see below).
