This fine William and Mary house, now a luxurious hotel, glories in 63 acres of classic English parkland that includes the remains of a 12th century chapel. The entrance hall/reception is particularly welcoming in winter, when a log fire smoulders in a large Delft-tiled fireplace; those in the comfortable lounge with its floral fabrics and brass chandeliers sport flowers.
The remaining public room is the library lounge, displaying some fine carved cedar panelling.
There are excellent meeting rooms for business users (including a restored half-timbered barn), plus a gym, putting green and croquet lawn. While you can eat well in their formal Avenue Restaurant.
Main house bedrooms have high ceilings and elegant proportions, while those in the extensions have more uniformity. All have modern TV's, with Wi-Fi internet access, tea and coffee making facilities (with fresh milk on request) plus little extras such as a pillow case menu and a complimentary newspaper. Many have fine antiques. There are 6 larger rooms particularly suitable for families.
Archery, Clay Pigeon Shooting, Falconry, Fishing and Hot Air Ballooning can be arranged with a little notice.
