A traditional Irish breakfast accompaniment, comprising mashed potatoes mixed with fine oatmeal and butter, then griddled.

For each pound of mashed potato, ½ pound fine oatmeal, ¼ pound melted butter, ½ teaspoon salt.
- Mix the oatmeal in with the mashed potatoes to form a dough.
- Add the salt and melted butter.
- Cut the mixture into shapes, and either cook on both sides on a hot buttered griddle in the oven, or fry on top of the stove.
