Poudre Blanche

A spice mixture popular in medieval times, used for both sweet and savoury dishes, and probably brought back to Britain by the Crusaders.

Ingredients

3 tablespoons (45ml) Icing Sugar

1 tablespoons (15ml) Ground Ginger

1 tablespoon (15ml) Ground Nutmeg

Method

1. Mix all the ingredients together, then keep them in a sugar shaker before sprinkling over tarts etc. just before serving.
