75g each of Golden Syrup, Demerara Sugar, Butter, Plain Flour
½ teaspoon ground Szechuan Pepper
1. In a heavy saucepan, combine the syrup, sugar and butter and heat gently, stirring until the sugar has dissolved and the butter melted.
2. Remove from the heat and cool slightly before stirring in the pepper and sifting in the flour.
3. Take teaspoons of the mixture and spread it on prepared baking sheets.
4. Bake for about 8 minutes at 160ºC.
5.Remove from the oven and cool on wire racks.
They will keep for a week in an air-tight tin.
