Find this ancient pub, once a haunt for smugglers, overlooking Mounts Bay and within yards of the Coastal Footpath. You'll find real ales, low ceilings with old timbers plus old paintings and pub-style knick-knacks.
On the food front, you can eat in the bar, separate dining room or outside terraces. At lunchtime, their offerings range from freshly-cut Sandwiches through various Ploughman's and Salads to a full-blown à la carte menu. The menu is divided into fairly standard 'regular' items, which expands with 'specials' in the evening. These change a little each day and with the local catch - so fresh breaded scampi rubs sometimes shoulders with fresh sardines and marinated venison steaks!
Starters such as 'Prawn Cocktail'; Sautéed Mushrooms in White Wine & Herb Cream with Rosemary Flat Bread'; 'Greek Salad'; 'Confit of Belly Pork with Pancetta & Bean Cassoulet' and 'Smoked Haddock & Corn Chowder with Garlic Bread' set the style.
Maybe to be followed by 'Sirloin Steak with Chips or Salad'; 'Breaded Plaice'; 'Tagliatelle Bolognese'; 'Pan-Fried Mackerel Fillets with a Warm Potato Salad, Caramelised Onion & Asparagus Salad'; 'Steamed Sea Bass with Tiger Prawns, Wilted Vegetables & Lemon Grass' and 'Pan-Fried Pork Chop with Bubble & Squeak, Buttered Spinach & Madeira Jus'.
Those with a sweet tooth, might find 'Hot Chocolate Fudge Cake'; 'Sticky Toffee Pudding'; 'Bread & Butter Pudding' and 'Tiramisu' there to tempt them.

What did you like about the Restaurant?
Physically an attractive intimate space, view over Mounts Bay at sunset can be fantastic.
What did you not like about the Restaurant?
Since Anne Thomas left this place has gone downhill. Lacks the busy pubby atmosphere, banter with locals and ultra friendly staff.
