A deservedly-popular Italian restaurant with a growing following.
This is largely because chef/proprietor Piero Di Bella offers menus that accurately reflect the food of his native Sicily - without fripperies and embellishments. He also takes great pride in sourcing his ingredients be it Welsh lamb, sea salt from Trapani or olive oil from the slopes of Mount Etna.
Starters such as 'Melanzana alla Parmigiana' (aubergine baked with cheeses & tomato sauce); 'Nido di Gamberi di Fiume' (crayfish tails with olive oil, garlic & lemon); 'Carciofo cn Salsa Verde' (stewed artichokes with a herb sauce) and 'Linguine al Limone' (linguine pasta with lemon sauce) set the style.
Perhaps to be followed by 'Costolette D'Agnello alla Griglia' (grilled Welsh lamb cutlets with creamed celeriac & carrots with balsamic vinegar); 'Salsiccia Siciliana con Lenticchie' (homemade Sicilian-style sausages with a lentil casserole); 'Capesante con Salmoriglio' (diver-caught scallops with a Sicilian olive oil dressing) and 'Pesce al Cartoccio' (a mixture of fish & shellfish baked in the oven in a greaseproof paper wrapping).
Simple desserts might include 'Tiramisu'; 'Semifreddo al Cioccolata' (chocolate) and various homemade Ice Creams.
Friendly and efficient service is provided by Dawn Di Bella.
