A buzzy brasserie style restaurant and bar on the site originally popularised by Paul Rankin's Roscoff Brasserie. The cooking is good, but the seasonal menus offer better value at lunchtime than in the evening, unless you have pockets that can stretch - as prices can build up surprisingly quickly.
Starters such as 'Crayfish & Mussel Risotto with Tomato, Saffron & Basil'; 'Scallops with Clonakilty Black Pudding, Cauliflower Purée & Crispy Pancetta'; 'Rare Beef Salad with Rocket, Blue Cheese, Walnuts & Port Jus' and 'Chorizo Salad with Feta, Tzatziki, Basil & Sweet Chili Butter Sauce' set the style.
Perhaps to be followed by 'Roast Monkfish with Creamy Mash, Celeriac Purée, Braised Oxtail, Thyme, Red Wine & Crispy Fennel'; 'Cornfed Chicken with Pineapple, Sweet Potato, Shitake Mushrooms and Thai Red Curry Coconut Coriander Cream'; 'Crispy Duck Confit with Spicy Egg Noodles, Sugar Snaps, Coriander & Sweet Hoi Sin Sauce' and 'Roast Lamb Rump with Caramelised Onion & Rosemary Barley Risotto with Spiced Red Cabbage & Crispy Bacon' listed among the mains.
Desserts such as 'Apple Crumble with Mulled Wine Ice Cream'; 'Sticky Toffee Pudding' and 'White Chocolate Cheesecake' might be there to tempt you at the end.
