Find this Lebanese eaterie in the heart of Mayfair - it's part of a successful mini-chain.
The restaurant is divided into two - a groundfloor bistro-style restaurant and a smart basement bar/dining area. The latter has Friday & Saturday Lebanese nights - generally including a belly dancer - and booking for these is almost essential.
While the menu is divided into starters and mains - the all day eating makes these divisions unnecessary for many.
However, if you wish to pursue the traditional route, begin with the likes of 'Bastorma'(thin slices of spicy smoked beef); 'Batrakh' (botarga fish roe with garlic and olive oil)' or 'Fatayer' (baked spinach in pastry parcels).
Maybe to be followed by 'Kafta Khashkhash' (charcoal-grilled, minced lamb with spicy tomato sauce); 'Musakaat Batenjan' (baked aubergine with tomato and chick peas with rice) or 'Red Mullet - grilled with Tarator Sauce'; or perhaps for safety, their Mixed Mezzes.
There is plenty of choice for vegetarians.
Unsurprisingly, desserts are mainly of the sticky variety - perhaps 'Baklava'; 'Ossmalieh' (caramelised wheat filled with clotted cream) or 'Halawat el Jebn' (cheese roll with clotted cream and syrup).
